Amelia Whitcomb is a San Francisco-based fiction writer with an MFA in Creative Writing from California College of Art.
Her narratives tell the tales of a diverse cast of characters including bestial pig farmers, punk rock nannies, sympathetic circus freaks, and young boys who speak only in birdsong. In addition to Youth, she is currently working on her first novel, In God’s Wildness, about a young stutterer who joins a lion-taming act in a traveling circus. In November 2014, she attended the Jentel Artist Residency in Banner, Wyoming as a resident writer. Her screenplay, CANADA – another collaborative film project with Brett Marty and Joshua Izenberg – was shortlisted for the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab in 2015.
